Maybe you have heard about the Acai berry and Acai berry juice - Oprah recently called it the number 1 superfood! This article is going to discuss some more of what Oprah and her guests Dr. Oz and Dr. Perricone discussed on her show about Acai, and what you must look for if you want Acai to benefit you in your life.
Dr. Oz on Oprah: Acai is an Anti-Aging Anecdote
Dr. Oz spoke a lot on Oprah about antioxidants and the key role they play in anti-aging. He told us how antioxidants are contained in foods like tomatoes, blueberries and broccoli, but then he introduced the Acai (pronounced 'ah-sigh-e') berry from the Amazon rainforest, and told Oprah's audience how Acai contains twice the level of antioxidants found in blueberries. He also talked about the importance of essential fatty acids, like the omega-3s found in fish oil and also other EFAs found in olive oil. These essential fatty acids are also contained in high amounts in Acai berry juice, maybe that's another reason he recommended Acai on the Oprah show.
Dr. Nicholas Perricone on Oprah about Acai: Acai is the #1 Superfood for Age-Defying Beauty
Dr. Perricone, the famous anti-aging doctor, talked about the importance of eating wild salmon and halibut, as well as using powerful spices like ginger, basil, turmeric, garlic and cinnamon on a regular basis. He also suggested adding free range poultry and eggs high in omega-3 fatty acids to your diet. In addition, he said that yogurt eaten with fresh berries or Acai will not only help your intestinal tract, but that research has shown them to combat bad breath and help boost weight loss. He called Acai the number 1 superfood for age-defying beauty and said that the Acai berry was one of the most nutritious and powerful foods in the world.
Acai on Oprah's Website
On Oprah's website, you can read a little more about the Acai berry and Acai juice. Oprah's website tells you that Acai is harvested in Brazil in the Amazon rainforests, and tastes like chocolate and berries. Her website also says that the Acai pulp contains many antioxidants that help fight aging, 10 times more antioxidants than red grapes.
Important Information about Acai Not Found on Oprah
You can find a lot more information about the Acai berry and juice on many other websites or articles besides Oprah, but if you decide to try the Acai berry, you need to know a few very important things. First, most Acai products out there are inferior products and contain only a small amount of the actual Acai. You need to look for a potent product made with at least 25,000 mg of Acai per serving. Many Acai products out there contain fewer than 1,000 mg per serving. Second, look for a juice product as that is how the natives traditionally took the Acai and got the benefits from it. Most Acai powders and tablets lose much of their nutrients in the processing. In fact, you often need 50-60 capsules to get 25 -- 30,000 mg of Acai, the recommended minimum serving. Third, many Acai products are not made with the whole fruit: the meaty pulp, the seed and the outer skin. These all contain important nutrients, and are traditionally used in making Acai juice in the Amazon for medicinal purposes. Last, you need to look for a product that is not diluted with water or other juices, nor contaminated with pesticide residue or toxic preservatives. So in summary, for a potent Acai product, we recommend the following characteristics:
* 25,000+ mg of Acai
* In the form of a potent juice, not a pill
* Whole fruit used: pulp, seed and outer skin
* Not diluted with water or other juices
* No toxic pesticide residue or preservatives
Does Anyone Know Of Any Diet Pills That Really Do Work?
I have used several diet pills such as Zantrex-3, Hydroxycut, Alli, Green tea extract formulas..etc. I think I have used at least 13 diet pills to experiment with. I can tell you one thing- don't do it.
The common symptom with a lot of the diet pills is that you get jitters everywhere. I remember shaking all over, not being able to concentrate or even talk normally, I felt as though I was spinning all over and I felt as if I just had run fifty miles yet I couldn't stand still. I ended up just "dancing" and rolling around on the floor that night when I first took the pill. This is the common symptoms of diet pills due to a high concentrate of caffeine. Pharmaceutical companies can no longer use ephedra due to FDA banning it, so they just put an extreme amount of caffeine in the drugs. I must admit that it made me feel good after the rush because I felt like I exersized a lot, and sweated a lot. I continued on for two more weeks but I realized I couldn't do it anymore.
I definitely wouldn't try any of those ever again. Even when I was on those, I only did it at night time or on weekends where I won't be anywhere outside. I don't know if it's just me but I felt like a complete different person, more like a "madman" when I was on them.
The best I would say is the famous Alli, the new diet medication that is such a boom in the UK and US. It does not give you jitters or headaches, or turn you into some crazy monster, but it does make you have "accidents" in the pants if you don't watch what you are eating. Alli is very particular about what you eat and the grams of fat you intake because Alli is pretty much a fat blocker. I think it's a great drug because of the low side effects, but you have to be precise in what you are doing, not to mention the accidents you will have. You can do more research on this topic on your own.
So pretty much I want to discourage anyone from taking diet pills because it's really not the pills themselves that do the work, it's more of how much you exersize and what you eat. Surely the pills would help if you are severely obese, but if you are not at a dangerous point (which you shouldn't even take diet pills if you are at a dangerous point), I'd suggest cuttng down on calories and exersizing. Without spending hundreds of dollars on medication, I realized this is the best way to go after experimenting with tons of pills.
I hope my answer helped. Good luck!
Where Can I Buy Real Ephedrine Diet Pills Online? Not Ephedra Extract Real Ephedrine Diet Pills
Ephedrine is illegal, so anywhere that says they have pills with ephedrine in it is lying and you will be getting probably sugar pills. Save your money and eat less and get in some exercise. That's how you lose weight.

As long as you don't take mega doses.
Use ¼ to ½ teaspoon of cinnamon per day. Add it to your coffee, oatmeal, smoothie, or wherever you find it palatable.
If you already suffer from diabetes, be sure to stay on a regular schedule with your cinnamon usage so that your blood sugar levels don't yo-yo.Use the same amount at the same time every day so that you can get a sense of how cinnamon affects your own personal blood sugar readings.
Use the powdered spice or a cinnamon stick. Cinnamon pills are also available, and can be found easily via an online search. MHCP is water soluble and is not found in cinnamon oil.
Lime and lemon juice delay the digestion of starches as does vinegar. I've found that 2-3 tablespoons of lime or lemon juice reduces my post prandial BG response by 10-20 points. Rick Mendosa's site has a lot of material on acids in the diet. Take a look at http://www.mendosa.com/acidic_foods.htm .
And get on a low glycemic diet.Hers the best website :http://www.mendosa.com/gilists.htm
This table includes the glycemic index and glycemic load of more than 2,480 individual food items. Not all of them, however, are available in the United States. They represent a true international effort of testing around the world.
The glycemic index (GI) is a numerical system of measuring how much of a rise in circulating blood sugar a carbohydrate triggers–the higher the number, the greater the blood sugar response. So a low GI food will cause a small rise, while a high GI food will trigger a dramatic spike. A list of carbohydrates with their glycemic values is shown below. A GI is 70 or more is high, a GI of 56 to 69 inclusive is medium, and a GI of 55 or less is low.
The glycemic load (GL) is a relatively new way to assess the impact of carbohydrate consumption that takes the glycemic index into account, but gives a fuller picture than does glycemic index alone. A GI value tells you only how rapidly a particular carbohydrate turns into sugar. It doesn't tell you how much of that carbohydrate is in a serving of a particular food. You need to know both things to understand a food's effect on blood sugar. That is where glycemic load comes in. The carbohydrate in watermelon, for example, has a high GI. But there isn't a lot of it, so watermelon's glycemic load is relatively low. A GL of 20 or more is high, a GL of 11 to 19 inclusive is medium, and a GL of 10 or less is low.
Foods that have a low GL almost always have a low GI. Foods with an intermediate or high GL range from very low to very high GI.
Both GI and GL are listed here. The GI is of foods based on the glucose index–where glucose is set to equal 100. The other is the glycemic load, which is the glycemic index divided by 100 multiplied by its available carbohydrate content (i.e. carbohydrates minus fiber) in grams. (The "Serve size (g)" column is the serving size in grams for calculating the glycemic load; for simplicity of presentation I have left out an intermediate column that shows the available carbohydrates in the stated serving sizes.) Take, watermelon as an example of calculating glycemic load. Its glycemic index is pretty high, about 72. According to the calculations by the people at the University of Sydney's Human Nutrition Unit, in a serving of 120 grams it has 6 grams of available carbohydrate per serving, so its glycemic load is pretty low, 72/100*6=4.32, rounded to 4.
Good luck and don't forget the exercise.......
Would Taking Fiber Pills Help Me Be Less Hungry?
I Have Celiac Disease So Naturally I Gained Weight. One Problem Is Most Gf Foods Have Little To No Fiber And I'M Hungry Constantly. I Really Struggle Finding Filling Food. Would Taking A Fiber Pill Help With That If I Take It Before Meals? I'M Supposed To Be On A Fiber Pill Anyway, But Just Wondering Cause I'Ve Tried All The Tricks Like Buying Smaller Plates And Drinking Lots Of Water And They Just Don'T Work I Always Feel Hungry And Miserable.
Fiber pills help you take a shi* if you're going low carb. No they will not help you feel full, i suggest you eat some beans, hey they may make you fart a lot but they're def filled in fiber. Complex carbs will help you feel full and satisfied (Brown rice, Beans, Whole grains)

How Effective Is Zantrex?
Im Currently Taking It. Just Want To Know How Good It Is.
Seaweed and raspberry extract. Really?
If you look closely at the nutrition label you will see the principle active ingredient in this formula is caffeine.
It is important to know the difference between an unapproved herbal supplement and an approved pharmaceutical supplement. Zantrex is not approved by any medical, regulatory, or dietary organization.
Let's pretend any of these "thermogenic" diet pills really do what they say.
The thermic effect of eating, digesting, and other food energy related functions only account for 10% of your total BMR (basal metabolic rate). So if you are fairly active a diet of 2000 calories per day is pretty reasonable for a maintenance diet. That means 200 calories go to thermic burn. Now let's say these wonderful diet pills increase your thermic burn by 50%. That is a huge change in any body function.
So we have increased our caloric burn by??.... 100 calories per day! Or less than one pound per month. For anywhere from $60 to $200 a month. You can burn 100 calories a day just drinking 100 oz of ice cold beverages!
That is why these bogus and often dangerous pills cannot get FDA approval. They simply cannot prove their outrageous claims with acceptable clinical evidence.
Read the container and you will see each and every one of them says somewhere on the label it is a "dietary supplement'. Loopholes in the current laws allow peddlers to promote their products without accepted medical evidence to prove their outrageous claims.
All this stuff is putting your liver and kidneys through a lot of unnecessary and potentially dangerous activity.
Many spices like chili powder, different peppers, garlic powder, cinnamon and others cause an increase in the thermic affect of food. But come on, you can eat pennies per day of seasonings and get the same benefit as these diet pills.
A healthy diet of whole unprocessed foods will give you much greater results.
Possible side effects
Arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat)
Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes)
Unexplained headaches and dizziness
Loss of appetite
Use the head on top of your shoulders. If you had a diet pill that REALLY worked would you need some ridiculous "reality show" personality to sell it?
You would be the richest person in the world!
How Does This Sound For A Healthy Weight Loss Diet...?
Im 5'10 270Lbs And Im 20Years Old. The Diet Im Thinkin Of Doing Is Make A Fresh Fruit Smoothie In The Morning With Fat Free Milk And Yogurt And Fresh/Frozen Fruits. Then For Lunch Make A Sandwich With Veggies And Low Fat Meat No Cheese And Mustard On Wheat Bread. Then For Dinner Have Grilled Chicken With Seasoning And Some Fresh Veggies And Maybe A Side Of Beans. Then For Snacks Have Fruits And Veggies.. Is There Anything I Should Add Or Remove From This Diet. I Already Have An Exercise Regimen So I Dont Need Help With Tht
Sounds great and yummy :) maybe add a bit more of calcium to your diet!
Also, to my smoothie in the morning i add ground flax seed (look for it at a health shop), it's so good for you and your heart especially! has great omega-3's and cant even tell it's there. Plus i up my fiber content by adding a fiber powder also
Try adding more fish to your diet!
Also, it's important to have a daily multivitamin, and if you dont eat your omega-3's (found in walnuts, fish, and flax seed) then look for a fish oil tablet-i recommend nature's valley. I take mine at night along with my multivitamin.

They tend to depend on caffeine (makes you feel alert) and diuretics (make you pee).
Anyone can buy green tea (used for caffeine content) in the supermarket, drink it iced with lemon - same effect.
